Dress Code

The Stageline leotards specified below may be purchased at Robcyns in Alexandria (703.379.7800) www.robcyns.com, or ArtStone in Fairfax. Please call them first to ensure they have your leotard in stock.

Young Children's Division

  • Creative Movement - Girls: Theatrical Pink Capezio short sleeve leotard pink footless tights, pink chiffon pull on skirt style # Capezio N9635C, bare feet. Boys: black shorts, white t-shirt, bare feet.
  • Pre-Ballet I and II - Girls: Theatrical Pink Capezio short sleeve leotard, pink tights, pink chiffon pull on skirt style # Motion Wear 1011, pink ballet shoes. Boys: black shorts, white t-shirt, white socks and ballet shoes.
  • Ballet I - Girls: Ballet Pink #140 STAGELINE (or Capezio) TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair must be in a classical bun. Boys: black shorts, white t-shirt, white full sole leather ballet shoes.
    Ballet II - Girls: Periwinkle 524 STAGELINE(or Capezio) TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black canvas character shoes (Capezio 457C). Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Boys: black shorts, white t-shirt, white leather full sole ballet shoes.
  • Tap - Girls: Black jazz pants, black tank leotard, and Oxford tap shoes with teletone taps. Boys: plain white t-shirt, black shortsor jazz pants, and Oxford tap shoes with teletone taps.

Youth / Teen Division

  • Ballet - Girls: Black tank leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Boys: black shorts, white t-shirt, white leather full sole ballet shoes.
  • Tap - Black jazz pants and tap shoes with teletone taps. Girls: black tank leotard. Boys: plain white t-shirt
  • Jazz & Hip Hop - Black tights or jazz pants, jazz shoes, or dance sneakers for hip-hop. Girls: black tank leotard. Boys: plain white t-shirt.
  • Modern - Girls: black tank leotard, black footless tights, bare feet. Boys: black shorts, plain white t-shirt.

Boys Division

  • BALLET: Black shorts, white t-shirt, white socks and ballet shoes, hair neat.
  • HIP-HOP:  Black shorts, white t-shirt, white socks and dance shoes or sneakers.

Junior Division

  • Junior Division I - Girls: Lavender STAGELINE(or Capezio) TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black canvas character shoes (Capezio 457C or 456). Hair must be in a classical bun. Boys: black tights, Black dance shirt, white socks, white full sole leather ballet shoes.
  • Junior Division II - Girls: Light Blue STAGELINE (or Capezio) TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black canvas character shoes (Capezio 457C or 456). Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Boys: black tights, Black dance shirt, white socks, white full sole leather ballet shoes.
  • Junior Division III - Girls: Royal Blue STAGELINE (or Capezio) TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black canvas character shoes (Capezio 457C or 456). Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Boys: black tights, Black dance shirt, white socks, white full sole leather ballet shoes. please have at least 2 leotards and pairs of tights
  • Junior Division IV - Girls: Raspberry Ice STAGELINE (or Capezio) TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink leather full sole ballet shoes. Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Boys: black tights, Black dance shirt, white socks, white full sole leather ballet shoes. please have at least 2 leotards and pairs of tights
  • Junior Division V - Girls: Burgundy STAGELINE(or corresponding Capezio TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair must be worn in a classical bun. Boys: black tights, Black dance shirt, white socks, white full sole leather ballet shoes. please have at least 2 leotards and pairs of tights.
  • Junior Division VI - Girls: Navy STAGELINE (or corresponding Capezio TANK STYLE leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Hair must be worn in a tight classical bun. Boys: black tights, Black dance shirt, white socks, white full sole leather ballet shoes. please have at least 2 leotards and pairs of tights

Senior and Conservatory Divisions

  • Senior & Conservatory Divisions - Girls: Black, single strap camisole leotard - Mirella style 207L (or corresponding Capezio, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and pointe shoes. Girl’s hair must be worn in a tight classical bun. Boys: black tights, black t-shirt, white socks, white full-sole leather ballet shoes.

Adult Division

  • BALLET: Relaxed dress code, any color solid leotard (or T-shirts for men) and tights or dance pants, t-shirts, skirts, warm-up attire are acceptable. Ballet or pointe shoes required. Please make sure your hair is pulled up and away from your face.
  • BALLET CARDIO AND STRETCH:  Dance Sneakers
  • TAP: Black jazz pants and t-shirt. Oxford tap shoes with teletone taps preferred.
  • JAZZ and HIP-HOP: Black jazz pants and a t-shirt or tank top, non scuff jazz shoes or dance sneakers for hip-hop.
  • MODERN: Black jazz pants or tights and a t-shirt or tank top, bare feet.
  • CONDITIONING (Pilates, Floor Barre, etc.):  Comfortable clothes, leggings, t-shirt.  We have a very limited supply of mats for stretch.  You may want to bring your own.

For non-regulation dance attire, and dance shoes, you can try www.discountdance.com.  Please note - if you are buying dance shoes for the first time, we recommend you go to a store and actually try them on, as the sizes are different from your regular street shoes.
