Youth / Teen Workshops and Camps
Dance Kaleidoscope! Performing Arts Camp
June 28–July 8 (M – F) 8:30am - 4:30pm
Level I (Ages 6-9) For students with at least 1 year of dance experience (must have completed 1st grade) Camp #1a
Level II (Ages 10-12) For students with at least 2 years of dance experience Camp #1b
Daily classes include voice and dance for musical theater plus modern, jazz, and character dance. Children participate in the ABC Quilt Project and enjoy many age appropriate sewing and craft activities. These workshops provide a wonderful opportunity for young artists to explore different ways of expression and creativity in addition to learning team building skills and group interaction. There will be a musical theater presentation for parents at the end of the session.
After care will provided from 4:30-6:00pm for $15 per day or $125 for the full 2 week program.

Dance Discovery Camp
June 28 – July 2 (M-F 1:00 - 5:00pm)
(Ages 10-14) Camp #2
This one-week workshop gives students with little or no dance experience the opportunity to try different forms of dance and movement. Introductory classes in ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, improvisation and Pilates will be included in the workshop, as well as instruction on safe stretching techniques. Students will then be ready to enroll in the regular summer semester and receive a 10% discount on summer class tuition!

Diamond Intensive Study Workshop
July 12-Aug 6 (4 weeks, M-F) 10:00am - 4:30pm
BalletNova levels JD IV - CD II (Ages 12 and up) Workshop #3
This summer Intensive provides serious intermediate and advanced ballet students with a rigorous training program designed to enhance technique and boost strength and endurance. Students will be divided into 3 or 4 levels according to age and ability. Female dancers must be on pointe. The curriculum offers daily classical ballet technique and pointe classes. Other classes include Pilates, modern dance, pas de deux (for the advanced level), repertoire, jazz and choreography. Technique focus classes with video analysis are also part of the program along with private lessons (for the advanced level) and seminars on: anatomy, injury prevention, nutrition, ballet history and vocabulary. More information and a sample schedule maybe found in the separate brochure. Visiting students should contact Ms Woods – Artistic Director, for audition information. This 4 week Intensive study workshop may be taken by the week.

Diamond Performance Workshop
August 9-20 (2 weeks M-F, 10:00am – 4:30pm – Performance Day Sat Aug 21st )
BalletNOVA levels JD V - CD II (Ages 13 and up) Workshop #4
This 2 week workshop will immerse the students in repertoire and choreography which will be presented on the final day .Dancers will learn and perform classical repertoire, original ballet, modern and jazz works. Ballet technique class will be included every morning; the rest of the day will be devoted to learning and rehearsing choreography for the performance. Groups and solos will be created depending on age and level – auditions will be conducted during the morning technique class on the first day. Students must participate in the entire workshop.

Jump Start Teen Tap Workshop

(Ages 12-18) Workshop #7
This 1 week workshop is the perfect way to get your teenager familiar with tap. Students with little or no dance experience will have the opportunity to learn the basics of tap dancing.

Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern Workshop (for teens)
Aug. 16 – Aug 27 (2 weeks M-F) 4:00 – 6:30 pm
(Ages 11 – 15) Workshop #5
The curriculum of this 2 week workshop, for students who have had at least 3 years of dance training includes modern dance, jazz and hip hop classes in addition to choreography and rehearsals for the in-studio performance on the last day.

Ruby Ballet Workshop
Aug. 23 – Sept 3 (2 weeks M-F) 10:00am - 4:00pm
BalletNOVA levels: Junior Division I - III (Ages 8 -13) Workshop #6
The curriculum for this 2 week intensive workshop includes classes in classical ballet, modern dance, character and jazz. Age appropriate conditioning exercises will be taught to enhance technique and core strength. Students will be divided up into groups according to age and technique level. There will be lessons in costume construction, ballet history, vocabulary, theory and video study. Classical repertoire from a well-known story ballet will be adapted to students’ level and a presentation for parents will be given on the final afternoon. Visiting students should contact Ms Woods, Artistic Director, for audition information. Students must participate in the entire workshop.
Before/After care will be offered from 9:00-10:00 am and 4:00 - 6:00 pm for $30 per day or $135 per week (includes activity fee)

Dance Adventure Camps (for pre-schoolers)
These enjoyable mini camps will include a 45-minute dance class (based on the Royal Academy of Dance themed preschool curriculum) followed by a 30-minute craft activity related to the theme of the class. Spaces are limited to ensure individual attention is given to each child.

A performance will be held at 7:00pm on the final Friday to showcase choreography learned during the workshop – followed by a buffet dinner reception for students, guests and faculty.
